In the heart of old Pescara, Gabriele D’Annunzio was born here, in the family home, on March 12, 1863 and spent the first years of his roaring life. Only the five internal rooms maintain the appearance of the original home. The stables and warehouses have been transformed into exhibition spaces. In addition to the collections of memorabilia, you can visit the Library, while in the courtyard, the ceramic portrait of the poet, by Basilio Cascella, is displayed. To introduce the D’Annunzio events, there is a video story with excerpts from the poet’s works dedicated to the family and the house where he was born. Gabriele D’Annunzio was born here, in the heart of old Pescara, Corso Mantonè is today the favorite meeting place for young people for its many clubs and restaurants.

The “Ponte del Mare”, a cable-stayed bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, with its 466 meters in length and 172 meters in span, is the largest bridge for cyclists and pedestrians in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. It ensures the continuity of the cycle path between the north and south of Pescara.

Andrea Cascella was born in Pescara, son of Tommaso Cascella and nephew of Michele Cascella. The ship is a representative work of his work as a sculptor.
