Monte Saraceno: highest peak on the island of Vulcano at 482 m

The paths leading close to the fumarole are closed. Only the path at a safe distance is accessible.

The trail junction is difficult to see, there is not much space there, but there is a nice view of the volcano slope

At a height of 481 m on Monte Saraceno, there is a gigantic panoramic view of the younger Fossa (391 m), surrounded by the old volcanic base of the island of Vulcano, as well as the island of Lipari and, in clear weather, as far as Salina. Most hikers (99%) climb the Fossa to see the fumaroles and look down on the crater. Alternatively, you can simply look at the fumaroles at the harbor and then admire the overall scenery on Monte Saraceno. (The fumaroles of the Fossa cannot be seen from the summit.)

The morbid charm of the old cemetery in combination with the mighty Stromboli is one of the interesting views of this island

Very nice atmosphere when you follow the alleys. You can discover small, lovely details everywhere. The alleys remind me of Greece or Tunisia.
