Historical laundry fountains were used until the 1960s. With the advent of running water and the rise of washing machines, laundry fountains were used less and less.

That's a surprisingly great view of the town of Trendelburg. 👍

The Dry Cloudburst is a second large sinkhole near the Wet Cloudburst. Unlike the Wet Cloudburst, the bottom is dry. ☺️

The Holzapetal valley is very idyllic, with its meandering, babbling stream and partly shady forests. Unfortunately, there are almost only forest roads in the valley proper and no proper hiking trails.

The ford across the Holzape River was built to replace the bridge destroyed by flooding in August 2024. There's a ford for vehicles and one for pedestrians. However, your stride should be quite long! 😅
