A beautiful cycle path crosses the dunes near the beach. I expect it to be very busy in the summer, but you may enjoy cycling in the spring.

This stretch of road from Baia Verde to Canale dei Samari has been forbidden to cars since 2022 and the white beach and crystal clear sea make the place spectacular. The road passes very close to the dunes, so be careful with road bikes as the wind can accumulate sand on the path.

The historic center of Gallipoli is certainly one of a kind: the fortified citadel in fact stands on a limestone islet connected to the mainland by a masonry bridge dating back to the 17th century. Walking through the narrow alleys of the old city at sunset is a truly unmissable experience. As unmissable is the flavor of the "puccia" from Salento, a sandwich with a dough similar to pizza whose fillings vary from octopus to burrata and which can be eaten here in various "puccerie".

Beautiful peninsula that encloses old Gallipoli. From this point you have a beautiful view of the island of Sant'Andrea.
