On the banks of the Adda at Pizzighettone, stands a square tower which represents the only remnant of an ancient castle, built in the municipal era by the Cremonese to defend the border towards Lodi.

Here, along the banks of the Adda, runs a pleasant dirt road with asphalted surface where you can walk in peace immersed in nature.

Just outside the town of Camairago there is the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Fontana right where there was a previous 13th century sanctuary. The bend of the Adda not far from here made the area dangerous in the eyes of fishermen and next to the spring, not far from here, a small chapel was built which is still present today.

The castle dates back to the 14th century and is still in excellent condition today. It is owned by the Borromeo family so it is not always open to the public, but it is possible to book it for events or celebrations.

A Borromeo Castle built in 1400 with towers and entrance courtyard still perfectly intact, all set in a beautiful landscape for running.
