At the end of the Cypress Path (not cycle-friendly) or the climb from the Curone Valley (dirt road, with a fairly steep climb at the end) there is a place to catch your breath, with a view over the entire Curone Valley, which is worth the effort.

Be careful, it is forbidden to ride a bike from the top of the cypress trees. If the guards (who are looking through binoculars) catch you, you will be fined. In itself, it is worth going up on foot. The place is shrouded in legend. The hill of the cypress trees, a sort of natural sanctuary surrounded by 12 cypress trees. In 2001, through aerial surveys, a very bizarre coincidence was noticed. The area has 3 stepped pyramids, of equal slope, arranged quite close together, as if to simulate an astronomical observatory or a sacred-religious place. The first of the three pyramids is precisely that of the cypresses. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a beautiful view, there is a sort of small stone altar and it is already a good place to take some photographs. Then you begin to gently descend along path 11 and you can reach the second of the pyramids of Montevecchia, the pyramid of Belvedere Cereda. It is a bare pyramid, very suggestive that allows you to observe the Curone park from the highest point. It is thought that the Celts used the pyramid as an astronomical observatory.

Muntavégia in Brianza dialect, Montevecchia is one of the most panoramic places in all of Brianza. Mario Soldati defined the historic center of Montevecchia as "a very high glacis, a balcony that rises out of the mists and faces straight south". Typical of the place are the Montevecchia cheeses and in 2008 the seventh stage of the Giro Donne ended here. Fabiana Luperini won, confirming her lead in the general classification that day. Montevecchia was also a holiday resort for the well-known eighteenth-century mathematician Maria Gaetana Agnesi.

It is considered the mountain of Milan, the first natural peak over 500m above sea level offering a spectacular view, on clear days you can see Monte Rosa. At the top stands the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Carmel. The sanctuary is of medieval origins and the construction of the first church is attributed to the Lombards who dedicated it to Saint John the Baptist, one of their favorite saints. The Lombard church survived until 1570 when a fire destroyed it. In 1630 the sanctuary was rebuilt.

In the square there is an ice cream shop with extraordinary flavors. All exceptional. The only problem is that every time I am in the surroundings I face the salitaccia to taste the succulent delights and then go home 40 km away.
