Sasso della Vecchia is a rock formation located in the municipality of Galbiate, in the province of Lecco, in the Lombardy Prealps, with an altitude of about 670 meters. This panoramic point is very popular with hikers thanks to the spectacular view it offers of the San Martino Valley, Lake Lecco, Mount Resegone and the Grigne. The route to reach Sasso della Vecchia generally starts from Malgrate and follows path 301. The hike crosses Pian Sciresa, a plateau that offers enchanting views, and offers a well-marked path, suitable for intermediate level hikers. Once you arrive at Sasso della Vecchia, in addition to enjoying the view, you can appreciate the local history, linked to popular traditions that tell of an old lady who observed the valley from this point.
