beautiful and very hospitable refuge located in a magnificent location

The refuge is a convenient base for the ascent and return from Pizzo Scalino. Personally, I don't like the refuge's management.

The view from the refuge is excellent and the path to reach it is quite simple without particularly technical points.

Strategic point to split the route to the glacier in two, too bad they don't accept dogs for overnight stays (so we stayed at the Zoia and went up to the glacier during the day)

Bignami refuge and Fellaria glacier

Excursion suitable for everyone. You can leave your car in the paid car park at the foot of the second dam (point the navigator towards Alpe Gera). From there, go up the dam via the dirt road that starts from the meadow. The route suggested here is the so-called "clockwise tour", which passes on the left side of the lake. The climb is rather soft and does not present any particular critical issues. The refuge is large and well equipped, you can use it as a base to climb to the Fellaria glacier, which is wonderful. The refuge is open from the beginning of June to the end of October.
