Plataria is the perfect place to unwind after a bike ride and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the harbor. As soon as you enter the small harbor town, you can feel the hustle and bustle subside. Fishing boats gently rock in the water while the fishermen haul in their nets - an image that almost seems to come from a travel guide. The promenade invites you to park your bike and take a break. The harbor has its own charm, with small tavernas where you can sit right by the water at sunset. When the sun sets behind the hills and the sailboats are reflected in the calm water, it is one of those moments when you just want to stop and enjoy. The area is very popular with cyclists, and there is a well-developed cycle path that stretches along the coast - ideal for planning Plataria as a stopover. A highlight is definitely the view of the sea as you roll along the promenade. Whether for a short rest or a longer stay

The port of Igoumenitsa is a practical starting point if you are travelling by bike and want to take a ferry - for example to Corfu (Kerkira) or towards Italy. The prices for cyclists are really fair and loading and unloading the bike is relaxed. There are even special holders on board so that your bike is safely stowed away while you enjoy the crossing. The atmosphere at the port is pleasant - you have a view of the sea while you wait for the ferry and you can have a last coffee in one of the cafes right on the pier before you set off. When you board the ferry, the next little adventure on two wheels begins - a quiet crossing with fresh sea air included. The best thing about it is that you are flexible with the bike: get on, park it and soon be setting off again on the other side.
