Cascina Venara has been recently renovated and houses a hostel. The farmhouse is located near a forest strip of great environmental value, a few steps from the river and the Venara Canal, a watercourse which contributes to attracting, together with the oxbows to which it gives shape, a large number of aquatic birds.

Here you can overlook one of the bends of the Ticino which once hosted a military area. Today it is immersed in lush nature.

The small church of Santa Sofia dates back to ancient times, it is estimated that it was built at the behest of Charlemagne around 773-774 AD. Today it appears in the reconstruction of 1576 by Giambattista Molo Bellinzona and is deconsecrated.

From here, along a beaten dirt path, you can admire a beautiful panorama of Ticino.

Carlo Magno builded this small church in 774 B.C. and then it was rebuilt in 1576 and, at least, in 1993. Since then, it's a place for painting and sculpture exhibitions, counting artist from all Europe. Behind this church Leonardo Da vinci tried the first experiments concerning the human flight, using...the committed to death.
