You can drive up to here by car. Then continue either on foot, with the Unimog or, in winter, on skis. The volcano landscape is magnificent. You can see the lava flows from the various eruptions. Some things grow on some after just 20 years, while on others nothing grows even after 40 years. This is due to the acidic composition of the lava.

From this stretch of path that leads to Piano Provenzana you can see the summit craters of Mount Etna. Continuing a little on the same path you reach the remains of the Le Betulle hotel, which was submerged by the lava flow of 2002. It is truly impressive to visit these places, which show, in a tangible way, the power of nature.

Piano Provenzana, located at 1,810 meters above sea level. on the northern side of Etna, it is an important ski resort in the municipality of Linguaglossa. Unlike the southern side, it offers an environment similar to an Alpine landscape, immersed in a pine forest, overlooking the Ionian Sea and the Strait of Messina. It was hit by the 2002 eruption and subsequently renovated.
