In this place it is possible to observe a monument dedicated to five young partisans, massacred by the Nazis in June 1944. This monument, called Cippo del Falchetto, is still the scene of processions, aimed at remembering the sacrifice of the five twenty-year-olds.

The small town of Barbaresco is famous for being the place of origin of the wine of the same name. The municipality is part of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato area, which has been part of the UNESCO heritage since 2014.

Strada Bricco is the excellent alternative to avoid the SP456 if you want to go from Nice and Castelnuovo Calcea without too many risks. The view is wonderful between cultivated hills and country churches.

Since the 16th century, Nice has been referred to as Nicea Palearum or of the Straw, thanks to the roofs of the houses that were built with woven straw and grasses. These materials were present in the marshy soils of the place of origin, located at the confluence of the Nizza and Belbo streams. Today, in the Piedmontese dialect, it is still popularly called Nissa dla Paja. In some old houses it is still possible to find false ceilings made following that method.
