A small lake with a water level that varies widely seasonally, it's surrounded by a route that's partly on dirt roads with no technical difficulties, and partly on a single-track trail with a karst surface. This is technically challenging, but it also provides access to various observation platforms suspended over the lake. To avoid the section with crashes, ups and downs, tight curves, and rocks jutting out of the ground, you can complete the tour along a small road (always rarely used) slightly further from the lake, which therefore takes away some of the magic... I recommend visiting the springs section; it's truly fascinating.

Along the military road, which was built during World War I, there is a monument or signpost in honor of the commander of the then 7th Austro-Hungarian Corps, Archduke Joseph. A "chair" carved into the rock is also placed next to the monument, dedicated to the commander of the then 5th Austro-Hungarian Army, Svetozar Boroević von Bojna.

The Imperial Road is the 6-7 km route that connects Basovizza to Sežana without detours. From here, numerous dirt roads branch off through the woods to Lipizza, Gropada, and Orlek. Between the Imperial Road and the paved road that leads from Basovizza to the border crossing of the same name, in the Igouza Forest, lies the Josef Ressel Trail, named after the inventor of the propeller, who lived in Trieste in the 19th century and also devoted himself to botany and the forests of the Karst.

Numerous twin towers are a reminder of how closely guarded the Italian-Yugoslav border was. Some are periodically opened and can be visited.
