Couple of historic bridges over the riverbed running through Barga. Looks to be permanently dry now - a playground has been created on the river bed between the two bridges.

Old bridge will lead you to the old center of Barga. When crossing the bridge you end up in a world of time difference. On the one hand you are still in Barga 2.0, on the other you step back in medieval times.

The famous sculpture is the work of Raffaello Romanelli and, as the engraving at his feet recalls, the poet Giovanni Pascoli was so impressed by Barga that he wrote a poem about it in 1896: l'ora di Barga. A piece of l'ora di Barga… On my corner, from where I only the remains of the wheat hear buzzing, comes the sound of the hours with the wind from the invisible mountain village: a sound that is the same, that falls softly, like a convincing voice. You say: it is time; you say it's late voice falling softly from the sky. But let me look at it a little bit anyway the tree, the spider, the bee, the stem, things that are many centuries old or a year or an hour old, and those clouds that go. The Colle del Monte Penna is located at 800 meters above sea level, just below the summit of the mountain of the same name which has a height of 982 meters above sea level. An iron cross was installed on the hill in 1971 by a group of Bolognana mountain enthusiasts. Destination for hikers and mountaineers, this place offers a splendid panoramic view of the Serchio Valley and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines
