As a long-time salmon angler, I not only enjoyed the stretch through the forest, but also the Enz itself. Often forced by humans, many sections of it are one of the most beautiful waters I know.

The former route of the Pforzheim–Ittersbach narrow-gauge railway, which was closed on July 10, 1968, was converted into a cycle path and paved over a 2.5-kilometer section between the western edge of Pforzheim's residential area in the Arlinger district and a former field crossing between Birkenfeld and Gräfenhausen. Here, the route passes under the viaduct of Alte Pforzheimer Straße over the former railway line.
