“Stories of two countries” is the work of the Serbian artist Artez in Via Contarini 71. Two women, who read the same book, share culture as a basis for growing together. The two female figures represent Donada and Contarina, two small municipalities in the province of Rovigo, which on January 1, 1995 decided to unify “in culture and traditions” into a single municipality: Porto Viro.

The castle dates back to the times of the Este domination in the Ferrara area. It was one of the sumptuous residences of Duke Alfonso II. It can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 6pm. It is closed on Mondays.
