Beautiful, unobstructed view across the Schaalsee to the Großzecher Werder and the "Devil's Bridge"-

The Schaalsee is nestled within the biosphere reserve of the same name and, at over 70 meters deep, is considered Northern Germany's deepest clearwater lake. Those who wish to swim here should only do so at designated areas—for example, in Dargow, Lassahn, Seedorf, or at the Zarrentin lido. The water quality is excellent, perfect for a refreshing dip on the go. The protected natural environment surrounding the lake is rich in species and tranquil—ideal for those who appreciate peace, clean air, and clear water. The beer and coffee garden is a pleasant place to relax.

Circumnavigating the Schaalsee was one of the highlights of this year's hiking season. The fog enveloped the lake in an almost mystical way, giving it a very special charm.

Wonderfully idyllic farm with delicious cakes or (if you prefer something savoury) smoked fish, optionally as a fish sandwich. You can sit under the chestnut trees in the shade even in summer. Nearby you have a great view of the Schaalsee from the observation tower

The Groß Zecher estate is an ideal starting point for exploring the region around the Schaalsee. You can stay overnight and eat here. For overnight guests there is a private bathing jetty with direct access to the water. The field adventure trail also starts here...
