Montefiore dell'Aso is located on a hill at more than 400 meters above sea level on the Aso river valley. It is part of the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy and its historic center is full of monuments and works of art.

The Fosso Cupo has created a chasm (between Torre di Palme and Bosco del Cugnolo), which resembles a canyon. Attention should be paid (as also described on the billboards) near the ditch.

The cugnolo wood is a path, with a good part on a white road. There are some wooden posts that indicate the route in this section.
