Nice hike, impressive view from the top and the crest of Monte Subasio. It is quite challenging at the beginning! Important to know: if you are planning to hike in summer be aware that along the trail you will be attacked by swarm of horseflies! Cover arms and legs!

Armenzano is a fraction of the municipality of Assisi in Umbria, located on the eastern side of Mount Subasio. With just about forty inhabitants, there are just a few houses perched on the hill with a 360-degree view of the Nocerini mountains and the Regional Park of Monte Subasio.

The castle of Serra probably already existed before the 10th century, even if there are no certain sources. In 1338 the castle passed to the ownership of the Trinci of Foligno. The castle was of strategic importance until 1600, after which it was abandoned.

Nocera Umbra is a small town with a medieval character at an altitude of 520 metres. There are some interesting monuments, such as the Campanaccio, the church of San Francesco and a medieval museum.
