The Monte dell'Ascensione is a relief of the Marche sub-Apennine at an altitude of 1100 meters. It is surrounded by spectacular gullies, which form part of the protected area of the Parco dei Calanchi e Monte Ascensione, and its name derives from a church there to be found on the summit founded in the 14th century by Meco del Sacco, a hermit and preacher.

Acquaviva Picena is a small village located on a hill above a few kilometers from San Benedetto del Tronto. It offers splendid views towards the coast and towards the mountains, and on clear days the highest peaks of the Apennine mountains can be seen. Its symbol is the Rocca, a Renaissance fortress that dominates the village with its imposing structure.
