One of the refuges where I've eaten the best, the food is truly excellent. If you're passing through, I highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat. It's in a great location beneath Monte Rosa; you can see the Margherita hut through a telescope, and they also have tent sites for sleeping.

Highly recommended stop along the Ru Curtod. Spectacular view, delicious food and cheese production. Unmissable.

The La Tchavana farmhouse on Alpe Metsan is easily reached on foot either from Barmasc, along the beautiful and easy Ru Courtaud walk, which can also be done by mountain bike or on horseback, or by climbing from Mandrou on the path that offers a spectacular view of the Monte Rosa glacier.

In the splendid setting of the Metsan Alp, the La Tchavana farmhouse is a destination (or crossing point) appreciated by adults and children alike for the presence of animals and for its own production of typical products. Among these, it is worth tasting cured meats and cheeses, but also yogurt and ice cream. I recommend you stop for lunch or a snack.
