Laupen, a picturesque town in the canton of Bern, is located at the confluence of the Sense and Saane rivers. Laupen is tiny. But you'll still be amazed when you look behind the city walls of this historic gem with its castle. Half-timbered houses, arcades and the cobblestones that are so beautiful you'll fall in love with them make it a medieval gem. You should definitely stop off at the Cafe Kreuzplatz near the Freiburgtor. It doesn't get any cozier than this.
