Beautiful village in Tuscia, very safe due to the absence of thefts...!

Vitorchiano, an ancient center a few kilometers from Viterbo, is one of the many but charming villages of Tuscia. The beautiful historic center is characterized by the gray color of peperino and by alleys, arches, profferli and very suggestive squares. Equally suggestive and, sometimes unexpected, are the viewpoints towards the gorge of the Fosso Acqua Fredda, a tributary of the Vezza River. The medieval town of Vitorchiano still has all the historical features of its birth which took place around the year one thousand. Walking inside means immersing yourself in a context full of charm and beauty.

The Moai are huge monoliths symbol of Easter Island (Rapa Nui). The only example of this sacred sculpture outside Easter Island is found in Vitorchiano, carved manually with axes and sharp stones by 11 indigenous people from Rapa Nui.

Borgo located not far from the more famous Civita di Bagnoregio. Built on a tuff spur, it was abandoned following landslides, subsidence and pandemics. Today it remains a ghost town with the few houses that have remained intact.
