Speinshart Monastery was built in the 12th century as a Romanesque monastery complex. The monastery and church are one of the most important and beautiful monuments in the Upper Palatinate. The monastery itself is not open to visitors for viewing the interior, but the church itself, built in the 17th century in a Baroque style, is worth a visit.

The Barbaraberg is one of the most popular places in the northern Upper Palatinate Forest. The view stretches far into the country and reveals the beauty of the baroque cultural landscape around the Speinshart monastery. The Barbaraberg is dominated by the ruins of the former pilgrimage church. On the Barbaraberg you will find an information board about archaeological excavations: discovery of a Slavic cemetery dating back to the 8th century. A small section of the path leads over stairs and the path is lined with baroque figures of saints.
