This fantastic traffic-free path is part of NCN 7 and runs alongside Troon Beach. Look out for the colourful Sustrans sign. Troon beach is characterised by a large sweeping curve of silver sand forming an attractive bay overlooking the Isle of Arran.

Irvine Beach Park boasts a lovely, traffic-free cycle path which is part of NCN 7. Keep an eye out for the abundance of rabbits frolicking about!

Stunning spot at the top of the Carrick Hills providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the Firth of Clyde, and the Isle of Arran. It stands at an elevation of 670 ft (204 m). On a clam night, this would make an excellent wild camping or bivvy spot, with views in all directions to wake up to.

Burns Cottage is the birthplace of the famous 18th-century Ayrshire poet, Robert Burns. The cottage is open to the public daily between 11.00–15.30 (last entry 15.00).

Now a luxury 5 star hotel, you can't actually get into the grounds but you can see the building from the road. The house is stunning though so it's worth riding by and having a look.

The castle was designed in the Scottish Baronial style of architecture by the famous Scottish architect David Bryce. The Castle is now a luxury 5 star hotel. As such entry to the castle and its grounds is for guests only. However you get a great view of the magnificent building from the roadside.

Culzean Castle is a National Trust Scotland property that can be hired for functions. Provides about the best view of Arran you can imagine.

Nice piece of road between Prestick and Tarbolton. Good surface, pretty flat, a great place to pick up some speed if the wind is with you.
