It felt like another world. The landscape was beautiful. One Tuesday in late September, I was alone.

Castelletta no Castellina……

The climb is long with regular gradients.

This is basically where the climb to Lake Fiastra begins. Shortly after this fork, I chose to turn left, about 500 meters/1 km, because it allows us to reach the lake from a side that allows us to enjoy almost the entire basin from a different perspective than the tourist one. The climb is challenging, but we would be rewarded with the beautiful view that awaits us above the lake.

Very nice village. Meeting point for many cyclists, hikers, climbers and motorcyclists. The square with the pine tree where the inhabitants meet after lunch or dinner for a chat, perhaps accompanied by a glass. At the bar you can find food to calm the hunger after sports and an excellent coffee. Narrow and picturesque alleys. More populated in summer but also in winter there is life. I love this place.

An absolute must if you are visiting the region. It can also be easily combined with the Frasassi Caves. The temple set into the rock is really something impressive. The ticket costs 6 euros. The path to the temple offers a beautiful view of the valley and numerous places to sit allow people who are not good at walking to visit the temple. There are even sanitary facilities at the top. The temple is unspectacular inside, but its location is all the more impressive.

At the ticket office on the main road from San Vittore to Genga, there is free parking here and in front of it.
