Beautiful and famous lake easily reachable from Pian del Re and Regina.

The first structure of the Pian del Re refuge hotel was built by the Municipality of Crissolo in 1874 to accommodate mountaineers intent on climbing the Normal route of Monviso. In 1909 it became privately owned and management passed to the Perotti family, a historic dynasty of mountain guides of Monviso. Numerous paths start from here, both for day trips and for multi-day treks, such as the Giro del Monviso, or mountaineering itineraries, including the Normal route of Monviso. The refuge is open every day from the beginning of June to the end of September and offers 30 beds, in addition to a bar and restaurant service. The Willy Jervis refuge is located in the suggestive Conca del Pra, at 1,732 meters above sea level. The refuge is dedicated to all the partisans of the V Division "Giustizia e Libertà" who fell during the Liberation, in particular to Willy Jervis, a CAI academic, partisan, who in 1944 was shot by the Nazi-fascists in Villar Pellice. The refuge has 10 small rooms with 1 to 4 beds and 4 dormitories with 8 to 17 beds. It offers a bar and restaurant service all year round. It is an enchanting place both in summer and winter. Willy Jervis Refuge Excellent snack: a huge platter of cold cuts and one of delicious cheeses (considered by them for one person, but three could comfortably eat there!), all for €16 with 🍷 water and ☕️ included. To repeat! 😋 also to be able to enjoy the wonderful landscape ⛰
