곤충 호텔 또는 곤충 집은 곤충을 위해 인공적으로 만들어진 은신처, 둥지 및 월동 지원 시설입니다. 이 곤충 호텔은 Weil der Stadt와 Merklingen 사이의 자전거 도로 바로 옆, 즉 해발 420m의 가장 높은 지점에 있습니다.

The highest point on the cycling and hiking trail between Malmsheim and Weil der Stadt. There's an insect hotel here, which is ironically marked with the Würmtal Pass (420 m above sea level).

Blessed sculptures and great bike path!

In 1995, the town of Weil der Stadt installed the fountain, which is fed by a spring near the mill. Blacksmith Gerhard Längerer from Renningen crafted the four copper figures: Shepherd (1999), Dog (2002), Sheep (2007), and Schäfle (2009). The shepherd figure represents Fritz Weida, the last full-time shepherd of Schafhausen.

Be careful when crossing the street. It's a dangerous spot. And always keep to the right around bends, as there's a lot of bicycle traffic on the road.

It's okay as a connection to/from Lehenweiler or Venusberg. The surface is generally rough, and heavy goods traffic has left ruts on the right side. Trucks are prohibited here today! There are a few places where the road narrows – and then the median disappears – but it's usually not a big deal. However, if you want to cycle the entire route between Aidlingen and Dätzingen, you'd still be better off taking the separate bike path on the opposite side!
