An ideal spot to see the large Avigliana lake: a convenient stop, it offers spectacular views. You couldn't ask for more.

A grand 13th-century abbey, with walls as strong as the faith of its founders, evocative for its location and history, it's definitely worth a visit. A little trivia: Umberto Eco drew inspiration from this place for the setting of his masterpiece.

I only tackled the Avigliana side, finding it a beautiful climb, easy in the first section, slightly more challenging in the section after the descent (but never prohibitive). Highly recommended for autumn, when you can enjoy the splendid colors of the forest that frames the climb. A detour to the Sacra di San Michele, a charming abbey rich in history, is highly recommended.

A town that appears flatter on the map, actually climbs quite steeply. The town's centerpiece is the Church of San Giorgio, at the foot of the castle—ancient, but with a 19th-century appearance (though still very beautiful). In front of the church is an interesting fountain, although unfortunately the water isn't drinkable. No problem, there's a smaller fountain 50 meters away in the direction of Alpignano. Is it worth leaving home to go there specifically? Maybe not. Is it worth a detour if you're in the area? Definitely.

It's located on the main road (Via Traforo), the provincial road to Moncenisio. This neoclassical church, nestled among the houses, tends to go unnoticed—especially because it's located at a rather complex traffic-light intersection, which draws attention elsewhere. However, it deserves a closer look.
