One of the refuges where I've eaten the best, the food is truly excellent. If you're passing through, I highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat. It's in a great location beneath Monte Rosa; you can see the Margherita hut through a telescope, and they also have tent sites for sleeping.

A welcoming Walser refuge located in the historic village of Gròssò Albezò, with stone and wood buildings dating back to the 17th century. Renovated in 1992, it offers 20–24 beds in shared rooms for six and double rooms, with modern bathrooms in the adjacent stadel. Easy access via a trail (trail signpost no. 6 or "W"), about 1 hour from Chemonal (1,407 m) through larch forests and pastures, also ideal for families. Perfect as a stopover on the AV1 (between Gressoney and Vieux Crest) or as a base for hikes to Testa Grigia (3,315 m).

Magnificent place, the highest refuge in Europe. It is a popular destination for many climbers from all over the world!

The Rifugio Città di Mantova, at 3,498 m, is located on the Monte Rosa glacier and is a starting point for ascents to the surrounding peaks. Open in spring and summer, it offers typical Alpine cuisine and overnight accommodation.
