Beautiful historical finds of Villa Aprilia, ruins of a historic villa still owned by the Lancia family. Colle d'Egua, at 2,239 meters above sea level, is a connection between Fobello and Carcoforo, known for the magnificent panorama it offers on Monte Rosa, which here exhibits all its peaks exceeding 4,000 metres. In this area there is also a bivouac that bears the same name as the hill. The surrounding trails vary between easy and technical sections, but most of them are suitable for running. The shortest route to reach this splendid panorama is from Carcoforo, but it is also possible to take a longer itinerary starting from Ceppo Morelli.

Alpe Selle is a charming mountain village, mainly populated during the summer. The traditional stone houses, some of which have been restored, extend along the path, bearing witness to a past full of life and activity. During the month of August, a traditional festival is held to celebrate the local culture. Nearby it is possible to visit the ruins of Villa Aprilia, a historic villa built in 1908 which belonged to Vincenzo Lancia and is still owned by the Lancia family. After the armistice of 8 September 1943, the area around Lake Baranca became an escape route to Switzerland and the villa was used by the partisans as a base. In April 1944, the villa burned down during a fierce battle between partisans and fascists.
