The Basilica Sanctuary of the Madonna della Guardia is an important religious and panoramic landmark for the area.

I arrived in a camper and found a spot easily in the large lot next to the bridge. In town, I also stocked up on groceries at the small butcher's shop just as you enter the village... the owner was very friendly and the shop was well-stocked!

Recommended as a starting point for the return trip from Genoa; a short train ride.

Grondona: The Historic Heart of the Spinti Valley Grondona is the main town in the Spinti Valley, a Piedmontese territory with its historical roots in the Ligurian-Piedmontese Apennines. The village boasts a significant medieval past, marked by the rule of important feudal families. Evidence of this era is the imposing Castle Keep, the only surviving portion of an ancient fortress that once controlled the valley. Today, the keep dominates the town and defines its historical profile.
