Don Bosco chose Mirabello Monferrato to build the first Salesian college outside Turin. The inauguration took place on October 20, 1863. After a few years, the 'Little Seminary' was teeming with boys with a vocation to the priesthood. A few years later it was transferred to Borgo San Martino, and in 1874 the College building, abandoned by the Salesians, was sold to the Municipality of Mirabello, which transferred the headquarters of the Municipal offices and the elementary schools there.
