In a splendid panoramic location, built of Langa stone, it is notable for the Baroque-style decoration of its brick façade. The building's design is attributed to Francesco Gallo, who worked in the Cuneo and Mondovì areas in the first half of the 18th century. The interior retains no decoration. The altar is noteworthy, the last vestige of the pre-existing building. This is evidenced by the fresco depicting the Madonna enthroned breastfeeding the Child, with Saint George, patron saint of Niella Belbo, at her side, dating to the late 15th century. The Sanctuary is dedicated to the Mother of Divine Grace and stands where the Madonna appeared to a young deaf and dumb shepherdess, healing her. The beautiful church is also immersed in a fascinating landscape, it is worth a visit.

The sanctuary, of origin prior to 1400, is built in Baroque style with materials from the surroundings (Langa stone). Despite being a rather bare construction (even the interior is devoid of decorations), it is notable for its splendid panoramic position, clearly visible from afar both coming from Mombarcaro and climbing from Niella Belbo. It deserves a stop, both to enjoy the 360 ° panorama (in good light conditions both the Maritime Alps are visible and, to the north, good portions of the Alps), and to enjoy the shade guaranteed by leafy trees. The only drawback, there are no fountains!

In the past, one of the sixteen parish churches of the diocese of Alba stood in this place; the building that we can admire today is a remaking of the seventeenth century. This place is suitable for spending a day surrounded by nature and for picnics.

Already inhabited in pre-Roman times, the area of Cortemilia was known as Cohors Aemilia in Roman times. In the Middle Ages the town developed around the fortress of which portions of the walls and the cylindrical tower remain visible even from afar and which dominates the town. The city center is divided in two by the Bormida river, thus originating the two districts of San Michele and San Pantaleo, which take their names from their respective churches. noteworthy is the former Franciscan convent, which is said to have been commissioned by St. Francis himself who, according to what is said, passed through Cortemilia. Currently the town is renowned both for the production of the "tonda gentile" hazelnut, and for the terraces planted with vines, from which the Dolcetto is obtained.

This church, despite its very "normal" appearance, boasts a thousand-year history: it was in fact part of the sixteen churches belonging to the ancient diocese of Alba (we are talking about the surroundings of the year 1000) and in fact, from ancient documents, it is cited starting from the year 998 AD. Nowadays, however, almost no traces remain of the ancient parish, except in the foundation of the bell tower, as the entire building was demolished and rebuilt in 1600. The interior, with a single nave, has many decorations, which cannot be visited. freely because the church has been closed for years due to the repeated thefts of works of art. A cursory fact: the church is located in the municipality of Gottasecca, and the curious name of this town derives from the poverty of water which, apparently, has always plagued this area of the upper Langa!
