Gottasecca is a beautiful village located on the ridge that divides the Bormida Valley from the Uzzone Valley. It can be reached with five, very pleasant km from Camerana, with average gradients of 8%, the climb from the Uzzone Valley is more challenging, because the first km after the Valle village exceed double figures. In any case, once you arrive, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Bormida Valley and the surrounding hills. The area between Gottasecca and Prunetto is also crossed by some pleasant MTB itineraries (signposted "MountainBrick" mainly on dirt/forest roads and difficulty from S1 to S3 (check first because years ago some sections were obstructed by fallen trees due to strong winds)

Roccaverano is one of the highest elevations in the area, from the town you can enjoy a 360° panorama of both the surrounding hills and the mountains of the Alpine arc (guaranteed view, in good weather, from Monte Rosa to the Maritime Alps!) The road that goes up from Vesime is quite regular, with gradients that almost never exceed 9%, furthermore I found it pleasantly free of traffic (I went up on a Saturday) The central square is very beautiful, dominated by the remains of the castle and the eighteenth-century church, the bar/restaurant is also strategic, perfect for a beer or a snack. An ideal place for a stop, before taking the road back.

I loved this climb through the hazelnut forests and the peaceful surroundings. I enjoyed it like a child with new shoes!! Highly recommended as there are some difficult sections but also some rest periods, which allow you to enjoy the landscape without getting overwhelmed. The road is very narrow, but without cars. A real discovery that made me very excited!!

The "climb of the champions" named after Marco Pantani begins near Bosia and the Belbo stream. 6.8 kilometers long, it has an average gradient of 5.6% but maximum gradients of 14%. The asphalt, in some places, is far from new, but the road has very little traffic. The summit takes place near Lequio Berria. Dedicated to the Cesenatico climber Marco Pantani, one of the most beloved Italian cyclists of all time, it is one of the last climbs in the famous "The climbs of the champions" tour.

The Sanctuary is dedicated to the Mother of Divine Grace and stands where the Madonna appeared to a young deaf and dumb shepherdess, healing her. The beautiful church is also immersed in a fascinating landscape, it is worth a visit.

Very smooth climb, never too difficult.

A somewhat demanding but very beautiful climb, on a secondary road that crosses truly remarkable woods. Asphalt not always up to par, but perhaps it's for the best, at least the cars avoid it. A tribute to Marco Pantani 🌹
