The main square of Retz is a lively and historic place that forms the heart of the town.

Seefeld was first documented as a market and parish in 1254 when it was founded by Heinrich von Seefeld. The church, which is essentially Romanesque and Gothic, was rebuilt in 1726. The simple church building has a projecting west tower and a recessed semicircular choir and is surrounded by a brick wall. The exterior of the church has rounded edges and segmental-arched window niches and a profiled eaves cornice and 14 surrounding niches with grooved sills and straight roofs, probably from a former Stations of the Cross. The high altar with a curved altar table is marbled and bears a gilded Tempietto tabernacle from the middle of the 18th century with volute struts and angel figures. The organ was built by Josef Silberbauer around 1770/1780. A pair of timpani was built in the first half of the 18th century. There are bells from the 16th century. "The large cellar drive in Haugsdorf is known for "Art and Wine" and as the filming location for the crime series "Polt". It is picturesquely situated in a sunken lane covered with acacia trees and leads up to the Hutberg, which can be seen from afar. Here you can enjoy the intact nature and the view over the gently rolling Pulkautal with its vineyards. Tours of the cellar lanes are also offered to interested people. Impressive memorial. For me, "Sudeten Germans" were far away. The information boards and maps bring this part of wartime and post-war history to life. It's all very sad!

In one of the cellars there is the "Radlers Rast" - everything is self-service. And nice and cool even in the hottest summer!
