The path up to the Bungsberg is not far now... the television tower is already visible from a distance.

The rest area is beautifully situated in the forest directly below the Bungsberg summit... If you're staying overnight at the trekking site, it's a perfect place to eat your meals.

A simple seating area with a table and two benches... I would rather postpone the break to the summit area of the Bungsberg.

A lovely little rest area... Wonderful view of the wetlands in the Bekmissen nature reserve... If you take your time, you can spot numerous birds.

Unfortunately, the bridge is no longer there, only a pipe remains 😊 and the path isn't quite as wide anymore. The paths have become quite overgrown. 😬 We made our way through nettles and blackberries 😅

Next to the Elisabeth Tower is the 179 m high Bungsberg radio tower, which was built between 1975 and 1977. From the tower's free-to-access observation platform at a height of 40 m, you can see large parts of Schleswig-Holstein as well as parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Baltic Sea in good visibility conditions.

The Holstein Switzerland Nature Park is only a few kilometers from the Baltic Sea coast and offers sooo much nature and peace 😉
