Its existence is first documented in 1736, when the church's accounts record 2 guilders and 46 kreuzers from the offering box as income. Pilgrims have been demonstrably gathering at this site on July 26th, St. Anne's Day, since 1840. The new chapel was consecrated by Canon Schmitt on July 26, 1952.

The idea of building a new chapel in Grub first arose shortly after World War I. A savings account was opened – and time passed. After the end of World War II, the residents of Grub commissioned architect Zimmer in Bamberg to draw up plans. In 1949, the plans were finally completed and approved by the authorities. The topping-out ceremony took place on Saturday, May 7, 1949, and on the first Rogation Day (May 23, 1949), the small bell from 1795 greeted its parish priest and the worshippers from the parish of Schönbrunn from its new bell tower. ... Over time, the chapel has been renovated and expanded several times: A heating system was installed in 1970, an electric bell system was installed in 1973, The organ and interior were renovated in 1978, The roof was re-covered in 1984, The pipe organ, pews, bell tower, interior paintwork, and windows were renovated in 2000. A festive service with a procession is held on the patron saint's day (July 13), and a festive service is held on the church's dedication day (first Sunday in September). 1.5 km west of Schönbrunn, in an idyllic clearing in the "Kapellenschlag" forest, stands a small wayside chapel dedicated to St. Anne. The exact date of its construction is unknown. The small, quiet forest lake is truly idyllic. A more well-kept bench would enhance the landscape experience even more!

Unfortunately I couldn't cycle there. It was closed. Definitely a nice place
