Even without snow (cross-country skiing starts here most days), it's a lovely place to linger.

The Longinus Cross is a special form of the Arma Christi cross, found primarily in the Black Forest, but occasionally also in other parts of southern Germany. In addition to the instruments of the Passion, Longinus crosses depict the figure of Longinus riding on horseback alongside the crucified Jesus. The crosses are primarily made of wood and approximately 3–4 meters high. The lake itself is inaccessible by road bike; the narrow wooden boardwalk is strictly for pedestrians. However, if you can park your bike for a short time, the detour there on foot is highly recommended; the lake is absolutely worth a visit.

I fell in love with the “Schänzle”, as people here call the Gasthaus zur Schwedenschanze, at first sight. It's a mountain inn like you rarely find. The restaurant is cosy and the view outside is fantastic.

On the Schlempenweg you find yourself in the middle of the wonderful hilly landscape of the Black Forest. You cycle up and down through forests and across meadows and always have wonderful views near and far.
