Bickentor: Built in 1260, the Bickentor is one of the city's first gate towers. It is 18 meters high and features a red clock face. In 1782, it became an Ursuline convent with a girls' school. To this day, it serves as a grammar school and secondary school.

The Upper Gate in Villingen is the highest gate tower in the city and an important part of the historic city wall12. It was first mentioned in documents in 1336 and secured access from the north2.
