I did exactly what Dirk described. I took the train from Jena to Camburg and then cycled along the Zuckerbahn cycle path. After a slight climb, the path becomes very flat and has many crossings over more or less busy roads. Of course, there are also many bridges. Orientation was sometimes difficult, but my intuition helped. Zeitz is very beautiful, but finding the Elster cycle path to Gera from there isn't easy. Still doable. 😁 Highly recommended.

The Lummersche Backhaus consists of the restaurant in the building and the bridge café on the Untermhäuser Bridge. You can sit and enjoy your meal in the historic building or on the bridge.

The train station in Zeitz, located on the banks of the White Elster River, was acquired by the city of Zeitz in 2015. Construction of the building began in 1909 and was completed with the inauguration on July 12, 1915.
