The climb to Monte Summano is always beautiful and interesting and being exposed to the south it can be done practically all year round. From the top there are trails that vary in difficulty and beauty but are always fun and exciting.

Where do we start from? I don't know this area but I would like to go there.

Evocative old arched stone bridge over the Posina stream. Construction date unknown. Flanked by the tallest and parallel bridge from the end of the 19th century (in masonry with high arches at the ends and in the central part in metal), built for the passage of the Rocchette-Arsiero railway and the arrival at the Arsiero station.

The Strada del Vecchio Trenino (Old Train Road) (also known by countless other names) is a pleasant and easy 10km (one-way) cycling and walking trail on a wide dirt road, which retraces the route of the former Rocchette-Arsiero railway. At the end of the 19th century, industrialist and future senator Alessandro Rossi promoted and implemented a series of modernizations and infrastructure projects for his important textile factories, including the Torrebelvicino-Schio-Santorso-Piovene-Rocchette-Arsiero railway. Inaugurated in 1885, it was later modernized in 1933, decommissioned in 1964, and dismantled in the 1970s. Along the route, you'll encounter numerous vestiges of the old railway: evocative tunnels, former stations, bridges, underpasses, and the classic modular concrete fences. It passes through silent woods and then opens out into the countryside, offering beautiful views of the mountain range of the Astico Valley. The Monumental Military Cemetery of Arsiero, adjacent to the municipal cemetery, collects 2,173 Italian and Austro-Hungarian corpses from the field cemeteries of the surrounding mountains and municipalities: an area that was on the front line and therefore the scene of bloody battles during the Great War. The Mardifaia bench, solitary and silhouetted against the sky, surrounded by a green meadow that suddenly slopes south, is a poetic and evocative scene. Sitting on the bench is a classic: a spectacular view encompassing the entire Alto Vicentino plain and all the hills that slope down, separating the Leogra Valley from the Agno Valley.
