We are located exactly on the border between the Marche and Tuscany regions, in a crucial point that marks the intersection between a path to the North and another that heads South-West (in the direction of the Sasso di Simone Bivouac) and East (towards Carpegna ).

The path from Passo Cantoniera to Sasso Simone is not always accessible, as part of the path is located inside the Military Range of Carpegna. The summit and most fascinating place of the small state "enclosed" by Emilia-Romagna, the historic center of San Marino has a splendid cycling history. Once home to the coveted Coppa Placci, San Marino hosted a women's stage race (in its last edition, in 2007, it was won by Marianne Vos) and in 2019 it was home to a time trial stage of the Giro d'Italia, won by Primoz Roglic. Finally, the last two editions of the Coppi and Bartali International Week had a stage with a circuit in San Marino: in 2021 none other than Jonas Vingegaard won here.
