Located between Porto Pino and Candiani, Porto Pineddu beach is a small sandy cove nestled between rocks and Mediterranean scrub. Less crowded than nearby Porto Pino, it offers clear waters and shallow waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

This stretch connects the two villages along a scenic and quiet dirt road that passes through fields and patches of Mediterranean scrub. The surface is compact and easily passable, at least when dry.

In the countryside of Piscinas, around 1000, the Benedictines built a convent, the center of local activities. Over the centuries, the town of Piscinas was united with Giba and passed to various feudal lords, until it was assigned to the Salazar family of Iglesias in 1587. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Salazars built Villa Salazar (or Villa Bice), designed by the architect Giorgio Asproni, acquired by the Municipality in 2002 to make it a multipurpose cultural center, immersed in a park with rare and centuries-old plants.

Very idyllic here in Porto Pino. Still deserted in March, but certainly a great, lively little place in the summer.

Here you can see an old bunker complex with many underground passages. Old gun emplacements and the platforms of dismantled guns.

Sardinia's beaches are beautiful and sometimes still quite deserted at the end of February/beginning of March.
