The cable car alone currently costs €52 for an adult and €30 for children. Various packages are available that include guided tours. Alternatively, you can hike up below the cable car. It's steep, but only a 500-meter climb.

Even in bad weather or under dark clouds, the trip up is worthwhile. The cable car takes you up to 1,900 meters. By the time we reached the top, the clouds had almost disappeared due to the wind.

**The Lungomare dei Ciclopi: A Cycling Tour between Myth and Nature** If you have decided to extend your stay in the Etna area, an unmissable day trip is the one along the Lungomare dei Ciclopi. This route, which is part of the permanent cycling itinerary *Sicily Divide* from Trapani to Catania, is the last stop to take before concluding the trip. The beauty of the landscape and the charm of the legend will accompany you on a unique experience. The Lungomare dei Ciclopi, which extends from Acitrezza to Catania, takes its name from the famous mythological legend of Ulysses and the Cyclops Polyphemus. It is said that, during his return home, Ulysses landed on these shores where he met the giant Cyclops, monsters with a single eye in the center of their foreheads. After capturing Ulysses and his companions, Polyphemus was blinded thanks to the deception of the Greek hero, who managed to escape with his men. The rocks that emerge from the sea, known as the "Faraglioni", are considered by myths to be the homes of the Cyclops, who threw rocks into the sea to hinder the hero's escape. Cycling along the Lungomare dei Ciclopi is an experience that combines nature, history and legend. The route offers spectacular views of the crystalline sea and Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe. The coastal road allows you to admire the breathtaking landscape, with small seaside villages where you can stop for a break and enjoy typical dishes such as fresh fish and Sicilian granitas. This excursion is also an opportunity to discover the Cyclops natural park, a protected area that is home to a rich biodiversity. The coast, with its Mediterranean vegetation, is ideal for those who love nature and want to immerse themselves in an uncontaminated environment. If you have decided to stay several days in the area, the Lungomare dei Ciclopi is a perfect base for other cycling explorations. Continuing your journey, you will find yourself pedaling through a territory rich in history, traditions and landscapes that will remain etched in your memory. Completing the *Sicily Divide* along the Lungomare dei Ciclopi is much more than a sporting feat: it is a dive into mythology and nature, which will leave you with an indelible memory of Sicily.

The Crateri Silvestri Inferiori, formed from the eruption of Mount Etna in 1892, are a true natural spectacle and a must for any hiker who wants to explore Sicily's unique volcanic landscape. With an overwhelming recommendation rate from hikers, these craters offer an easily accessible yet impressive natural experience right at the foot of the mighty Mount Etna. The large parking lot in the immediate vicinity makes access to these historic craters extremely easy. After just a few meters, a view opens up that presents the interplay between the rough volcanic earth and the first traces of vegetation in a fascinating play of colors. Although the experience here does not quite reach the raw, steamy intensity of the summit region, the beauty of the Crateri Silvestri Inferiori is undeniable and offers a more accessible option for all visitors. The opportunity to hike directly on the crater floor adds a special touch to the visit. The accessibility of the extinct Silvestri craters makes it possible for anyone to find themselves in the middle of a volcano without much effort. This easy sporting activity is a unique opportunity to experience the power and beauty of nature up close. In addition, the Crateri Silvestri Inferiori are an excellent entry point into the more extensive volcanic landscape of Etna. As "picture-book craters", they offer a foretaste of the majestic and diverse environment that makes this part of Sicily so special. The panoramic view from the crater rim offers a breathtaking view that will stay in your memory in clear weather.

The oldest core of the garden dates back to the 18th century and belonged to Prince Ignazio Paternò Castello di Biscari. According to the typology of the time, the garden was designed with hedges forming labyrinths, statue decorations and numerous fountains of various shapes with gargoyles or cascades. After the patron's death in December 1786, the garden gradually fell into disrepair as it was abandoned by his heirs. It was offered for sale from 1820, but only after long negotiations was the Labirinto acquired by the municipality of Catania in September 1854.

The islands of the Cyclops, also known as the Faraglioni of Aci Trezza, derive their name from Greek mythology, in particular from the legend of the Cyclops Polyphemus, immortalized in Homer's Odyssey. According to this epic narrative, Polyphemus, blinded by Ulysses, projected imposing rocky boulders against the Greek hero in an attempt to prevent his escape across the sea. These boulders, thanks to the anger of the Cyclops, were transformed into the majestic Faraglioni that we admire today. The Homeric tale unfolds along the suggestive Ionian coast of Aci Trezza, a place already known and frequented by the ancient Greeks. Already in the first verses of the ninth book of the Odyssey, the description of the landscape emerges which is still intact today: "In front of the port an island lies, Lachea nomata, where the rural goats grow in droves."
