Lake Pontecosi was born in 1925 with the damming of the Serchio river. It is a perfect stopping point during a ride because on its banks there are picnic areas and fishing spots.

Castiglione di Garfagnana is a Tuscan town famous for its medieval fortress, its intact walls and its two Romanesque churches. It is located in a mountainous area between the Serchio river and the Esarulo stream, and from the town's many panoramic terraces you can enjoy a beautiful view towards the Serchio valley and the Apuan Alps to the south.

Lake Pontecosi is a hydroelectric basin built on the Serchio river. On the shores of the lake, there are picnic areas, fishing spots and a large equipped green area.

The Santa Lucia Bridge is one of the most promising bridges in the Garfagnana and is located in the town of Castelnuovo, the main center in the area. It is a bridge for vehicles built in sandstone. Built in the fourteenth century, it has two round arches of equal width. Raffaello Raffaelli, commissioned by a worldwide oral tradition, in the "Geographical, historical, economic description of the Garfagnana", attributes the construction to Castruccio Castracani, which dates back to 1324.

This is one of the old city gates that give access to the old center.
