Cinisi: a Sicilian treasure to discover by bicycle Cycling through the streets of Cinisi, you will immerse yourself in a vortex of history, culture and nature that will leave its mark. The historic center, with its winding alleys and ancient houses, will tell you stories of pirates, Normans and the legendary Peppino Impastato. But Cinisi is not just history. Its uncontaminated territory offers breathtaking landscapes that follow one after the other: from the Zingaro Nature Reserve, with its turquoise coves and fragrant Mediterranean scrub, to the golden countryside dotted with olive and almond trees. Get on your bike and let the sea breeze guide you towards the Tonnara di Scopello, an industrial monument of industrial archeology immersed in a postcard panorama. Then continue towards the Capo Gallo Nature Reserve, where dirt paths will lead you to discover sea caves and wild stacks. Cinisi is a place you love slowly, pedal after pedal. A place where time seems to have stopped and where the only noise is that of the wind in your hair and the waves crashing on the coast.

One of the most beautiful stretches of coast in the entire region extends in Cinisi and there is one of the best beaches for surfing and windsurfing.

Cinisi is a village symbolic of Peppino Impastato's anti-mafia fight. A museum in town is dedicated to him. This piece of history is mentioned in the very good film “Les cent pas” by Marco Tullio Giordana.

The Magaggiari beach is a well-known beach of very fine sand on the Gulf of Castellamare, between Cinisi and Terrasini. The lido is bathed by a turquoise, transparent and crystalline sea, with a shallow and rocky seabed near the shore. Magaggiari is a very wide and long stretch of beach set in a picturesque and suggestive coastal stretch that reaches up to Punta Raisi.

Small pre-Greek cave burials, the locality called Manico di Quarara refers to ancient treasures found in large vases with handles (hence the origin of the name) of which the necropolis was full.

The wood of Santa Venera contains many surprises, including the Manico di Quarara Necropolis, the White Grotto and the medieval church known as the "old house".

La Praiola Beach is a short walk down a long flight of stairs to a charming and picturesque cove of light sand between high cliffs just below the town. The sea that laps La Praiola is beautiful and transparent, with blue and crystalline waters that gently descend towards the sea.
