Very challenging pass for length (about 25-26 km) and altitude difference (1700-1800 m). There are some flat or even downhill stretches that help you catch your breath. The upper part of the road is very scenic and characteristic but on the way down be careful of several tight curves.

Very nice pass with comparatively little traffic, especially during the week. Since there is only a small village (Albaredo) at the pass, you should provide yourself with enough water and food at the beginning. And: Watch out for crossing marmots on the descent. ⚠️🚴♂️🦫😉

When you reach the base of Passo Qualido (2,674 m) the ascent develops along an exposed stretch and loose rocks. The descent from the opposite side is more difficult because it follows a steep wall until you reach the pastures of Val Qualido. The most exposed sections are aided.

Passo del Barbacan is on the left of the peak of the same name. It develops along pastures and then reaches the gully which narrows up to the entrance to the pass (2,598 m). The last part of the pass is equipped with fixed ropes that help the climbing of its steep wall.

The Passo Camerozzo is quickly reached by the Rifugio Gianetti. Crossing it requires a head for heights, some strength and a sure footing. There are several chains and iron steps to overcome. However, once you have done this, you can look directly into three valleys.
