In the suggestive scenery of Val Menaggio, Lake Piano is located in the heart of the regional nature reserve. It is surrounded by fields, reed thickets and a dense green forest that develops on the slopes of Mount Galbiga. It can be a perfect place for a regenerating break while cycling.

Beautiful old Italian town on the shores of Lake Como. It's best to lock your bike at the ferry port (where everyone can see it and it's guarded) and explore the town on foot.

Varenna is also on the “Sentiero Viandante” hiking route and can be reached in 3 stages from Colico. The sections can be divided by bus or train and are very reminiscent of the 5-Terre.

Lake Piano is a splendid small lake located in Val Menaggio between the foothills of Mount Calbiga to the south and Val Cavargna to the north. The surface of the lake is partially covered by white and yellow water lilies while the area of the reserve is populated by several mammals (deer, fawns) all well documented in the small house in the park located right at the head of the lake in the direction of Porlezza.

Beautiful, quiet campsite right on the lake. Good starting point for hikes or MTB. Haven't had any experience with the RR yet. Located between Lake Como and Lake Lugano. Highly recommended is the mountain tour to Monte Grona, from the summit of which you can see Lake Como and Lake Lugano, with Lago di Piano embedded in between!!!

With its colorful houses, stone walls and glimpses of the lake, Varenna can be considered the pearl of Lake Como, a village that fascinates tourists from all over the world. Walking through the alleys of this village is like taking a journey through history. Really lovely!

It is best to take an early ferry from Menaggio to Varenna; then you have the place to yourself. In the afternoon, many holidaymakers stroll through the beautiful place.
