Vezza d'Oglio is a charming community in the upper Val Camonica. Thanks to the numerous side valleys that surround it (the Val Grande; the Val Paghera and the Val Bighera), it is possible to observe its morphology from above, capturing the great river that meanders and flows into the historic center.

Starting from the car park located at the end of the road you can reach the lake in about 45/50 minutes at a good pace. The effort of the climb is rewarded once you arrive at the lake, with crystal clear water.

Area inhabited by ibex! They get close. It is always possible to walk on the steeper sections of the path present in the circuit, climbing is never required, obviously with wet ground the difficulties rise.

After passing the Sandro Occhi refuge, Lake Aviolo shows itself in all its splendid beauty, with the majestic peaks of the Baitone group and its glaciers in the background. It is a truly magical and relaxing place. The trails near the lodge are flat and easy to walk, but as you get further away from the lodge, the trail becomes very rough, with rocky terrain. Running is definitely possible, but you have to be careful where you put your feet.

The Sandro Occhi Refuge is located at an altitude of 1,930 meters in the splendid scenery of Lake Aviolo and Baitone. Its location is ideal for numerous excursions and ascents, for exploring the spectacular surroundings or simply sunbathing on the shores of the enchanting lake.

As soon as you look beyond the Sandro Occhi Refuge, Lake Aviolo appears in all its beauty. Behind it you can admire the peaks of the Baitone group and its glaciers. A truly magical and relaxing place.
